They Were Storms

The snow turned to rain. Gifts unwrapped themselves. The world was cold and dry. Falling tears froze around her. She was winter.

The clouds parted. Sunbeams highlighted the way home. Trails filled with leaves. The earth warmed. Steam rose from the ground around him. He was summer.

Cherry blossoms sprouted from slender limbs. Frost melted. Green shoots grew through hard ground. Flowers bloomed. Lush grass grew all around her. She was spring.

Colors filled the forests. Leaves painted the ground. Winds picked up. Clouds moved in. The earth cooled. Death became beautiful around him. He was autumn.

Years passed. Cycles followed cycles. Everything repeated. The earth spun. Seasons rose and fell like climatic civilizations. They were storms.
