Where I See Your Fire

Where I see your fire, other people, foolish people, rush to put it out
Where I see your fire, I feel its warmth, and I get closer
Where I see your fire, I add fuel to it, to keep it going
Where I see your fire, I make sure nothing else burns, unless it wants to, or it makes you happy
Where I see your fire, I see your light and your beauty
Where I see your fire, you see my smoke surrounding you in every direction
Where I see your fire, you feel the ground under you, and the stars above you
Where I see your fire, I know it has to burn out sometime, but only when we decide
Only when we want it to go out
Only when we want it to end
Only when we want to go inside and start the fire that doesn’t hurt

      1. Ward– I think you and I going to get along well! Loved the poem. You are a big favorite among the managing editors of Sudden Denouement (including Jaspar, Olde Punk and I) and we have a proposal for you. Sadly not an indecent one but I would love to chat off line with you about it sometime.
