Arm In Arm, Oblivious To Deceit

Admission, dismissive
Reluctant to expose
Oblivious to the healing
Resultant from contrition
Reticent to reveal weakness
Is that, itself, a weakness?
A revelation?
Could it be that this aversion
To the compassionate path
Arises from self-awareness?
The expected coup-de-grace
Comes from countless times
As executioner?
It is lack of experience
In performing selfless acts
That leads to skepticism
Strikes, preemptive
Arm in arm, viewing chaos
Standing on the precipice
It’s all too tempting
To give a gentle nudge
Isn’t it?
